Kimi to Boku: Ep 1

Overall impression:

This series is pretty much slice-of-life type of anime. I’m assuming it’s going to tell the story of their 17th spring together. There were a few scenes that were pretty funny and had me laughing but not enough to classify it as a comedy series. It was interesting how cats were used to somewhat represent them and their actions. The exchanges between characters like Kaname and Yuki are fun to watch especially when they’re bickering and insulting each other. Kaname seems to be a bit flustered when their sensei walked over and talked to them. He didn’t say much and turned away from the group, it’s cute. Maybe he has a crush on their sensei, I’d like to see what happens. I want to see how this series will portray friendship and how their friendship will turn out after they go through their 17th spring together, hah. I’m interested in how their friendship will develop and how they develop relationships with others outside of their group.

Characters:

Shun: He’s very gentle and I’d say he’s a bit timid. He’s basically the one who mediates when there’s a conflict between the others in their group of friends. The one thing that I have a problem with him is his hair. Why must it be long? It just doesn’t look good. I had mistaken him for being a girl until I heard him speak.

Kaname: Man, this dude complains so much. He gets so stressed out, so tense, so pissed at the most useless things ever. But, he was cute as a kid. He has furrowed brows and his face looks so tense.

Yuta: Yuki’s older twin brother. He combs Shun’s long hair… I wonder if he’s athletic too. He doesn’t seem to fight with Kaname verbally as much as Yuki does. I’m sure he and Yuki cares a lot for Shun but I’m not sure about how they feel towards Kaname.

Yuki: Yuta’s younger twin brother. This dude seems to be the one who engages in verbal arguments with Kaname the most. He just can’t live without arguing with Kaname about the smallest things. He’s surprisingly athletic for being so lazy and he loves anime and manga.

Favorite Scene:

Lol, the twins are so awesome. Their glares are so cute~

Final Verdict: I’m definitely going to keep up with this series.

  1. Wait, what the–impossible! Is this a new post :D :D :D :D

Yeah, I thought the first ep was good. I just hope it gets better!

    • Haha, Yeah~~
I decided to at least write about the first eps of the series that I’m thinking of watching.

It kind of reminds me of Usagi Drop, in a way that it’s just about their lives and their relationship to one another. Someone had said that it’s too mellow but I disagree in that this show isn’t meant to deliver drama or anything of that sort. It’s just the storytelling of a friendship between a group of people.

  2. Oh finally a new post.

It seems like the ultimate boy love anime without actually being shounen ai.
I’m planning to pick it up, but I’m not sure if I should follow it or just wait for it to finish airing.

What are the shows you’re watching this season anyway ?

    • I am back and hopefully for a while. :3

Yes~ I am glad you see that. There’s hints of BL and I’m fond of it but it could be a bit more obvious. That’s tough, I wonder which would be the better method to use so that you can fully enjoy this series.

I’m really hyped for Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi 2 and UN-GO. I’m going to keep up with Kimi to Boku, Phi Brain, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, Guilty Crown, and Chihayafuru. I have a feeling that I won’t have enough time so I’ll probably drop half of these from my list. Dx There’s also Shakugan no Shana 3 but I have to finish season two first… What about you?

  3. I already watched everything about Shana so I`m looking forward the third season. I don’t really like the franchise, but since I’m so far in, it wouldn’t hurt to finish with it lol.

As for the show I’m looking the most : Last Exile II. I have my serioys doubts on this one and the first episode is coming out tomorrow. So yeah, I can’t wait.

Other shows I’m interested in: Un-Go and Kimi to Boku. Apparently Chihayafuru received good comments for its first episode, so I might as well picjk that up later on.

    • i like how she is in love with melon bread, haha. did the movie have anything to do with the main storyline?

How was the first ep of Last Exile II? Was it good?

I’m thinking of watching Chihayafuru since there’s been a lot of praise. I’m excited to see why it’s been praised so much.

  4. Yeah, Kaname sure complains a lot. I’m pretty sure that the three are just immune already but if he does that to a stranger, he’ll never be liked.

    • Lol, true. but i still can’t get over the fact that they can stand his complains for so long. it’s a miracle that they stuck with him since their childhood days.

  5. I enjoyed the part where Kaname kept dragging Yuki from clubs to clubs but the one scene got me laughed the most is how the twins stared at little Kaname till he cried!

    • Yeah, especially when none of them would interest Yuki. Kaname just created more stress for himself. Their childhood days seem to be full of awesomeness so hopefully they’ll show more of it.
